Holistic Recovery

Mark 12: 29-31, “29 “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

The five areas that Jesus said we need to focus on when loving God, what are they? Physical (Strength), Heart (Emotional), Soul (Spiritual), Mind (Mind) and Love Others (Service)

1 Corinthians 3:16-17, “16Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? 17 If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.”
What are we?...What does it mean to be God’s temple?...If I told you that a very important person was come to your apartment or room tonight, what would you do?...I know that I would clean my house and make sure that everything was very in it right place. We learn in this passage the very Spirit of God dwells within us! So from our earlier passage in Mark and with this passage 1 Corinthians we learn that God is interested in our physical bodies. So today we are going to look at the physical (Temple of God) and emotional(heart).
Let’s first begin with looking at our physical bodies. How many of you exercise?...How many times a week?...How many of you hate to exercise?...How many of you love exercise. Did you know that individuals that workout have a higher success rate in recovery 70%! Did you also know that working out lowers stress and anxiety levels. And increase your self-esteem! I love when science proves what God tells us in the BIBLE! So this morning, we are going to work out together. I am going to give you just a few exercises that you can do in your apartment or even outside in the beautiful garden that Bpop designed.
