Let Be Hands and Let Be Your Feet

Matthew 25:34-40, “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’
“Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’“And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’

Yesterday, Andy and I were driving back to Albuquerque from my parent's house in Texas. And we have been talking about how we can serve God while in the USA and I prayed that God would give opportunities to serve Him. It was not very long after that pray that we saw a family and their card broken down on the side of the road. So we stop and asked if they needed any help and they had already called a tow company and about that time the tow truck pulled up. So we wished them well and got back into our car.

Then about two hours later we saw an older man with a sign "VET Will Work for Food". So we stopped and asked him if we could help him, he said "That he would work for some money so that him and his friends could have something to eat." We told him that we did not have any work but we would like to help him anyways. So he asked if we could get him a hotel room for the night since he had not had a shower in almost two months. My eyes filled with tears because I honestly cannot imagine what it must feel like to not be able to shower or have a roof over your head. So we said that it would be our pleasure! We loaded him and his two dogs into our car and took him to Motel 6 along with his two friends. It was a very enjoyable ride to the hotel because we got to know him better. While Andy went inside to pay for the hotel room, I stayed outside with the dogs and his two friends. I was able to tell them about our faith in Jesus and that it is because of Jesus and His love that we can help them today. They both began to cry and of course I had to stop myself from crying. About that time Andy returned and so we asked if we could pray with them and as Andy began praying tears rolled down their faces. As we were leaving we left them some money for food. I have to say when I got back into the car, I started crying because I was definitely touched by their humble and gracious hearts.

But our opportunities to serve did not stop there, we had one more opportunity when we arrived in Albuquerque. I have to say that yesterday was an amazing and fabulous day to be a follower of Christ! I give all praise and glory to God for allowing me to your hands and your feet!!

Our God is Awesome God!
