As many of you know, there has been an increase in protest activity in Bangkok over the last month. These protests have been non-violent with weapons on being involved on either side. That all changed on April 9th after the government shut down the opposition’s news channel. This set off a confrontation between thousands of unarmed protesters and thousands of military and police officers. It was the first time that the government used water cannons and tear gas against the protesters. With this conflict, the government started its plan to end the protests before the Thai New Year holiday next week.
Saturday April 10th brought more confrontations and more intense confrontations between troops and protesters. As you will be seeing on the news today, there has been many injured from rubber bullets, tear gas, and direct hand to hand engagements between the protesters and troops. The protesters are not going anywhere and seem to just be getting stronger with every move the government makes against them. In the end, 21 people died and over 800 were injured. It was a very sad moment in Thailand.
With this said, we are ok. We have been down this road now a few times, so we know how to stay low. Please pray for Thailand. We know that God is in control of all things and puts people into power and removes people from power. Just pray that this does not become something that divides these people further than they are already divided. Thanks for all of your prayers and support.

For sure the Songkran on some places in Bangkok wasn't the same as it should be and it is very sad to see that people have died in these "demonstations".
A fair election that the loosing part would accept seem far away right now.
The Songkran were I live was just as normal, crazy and soaked. I hope that the critical problems Thailand are having with the government will ease fast and become a somewhat more democratic society.
I hope "god"(?) isn't almighty cause then we should all sheer instead of fear his events that during history been referred to ass massacres and evil.
Thank you for comment. I lived in Thailand for more four years now, so I have experienced Songkran many times. I think it also sad to see the protest turn violent. God is never involved in evil because He cannot be where evil is present. God is the almighty and does give us Free Will, thus the entry point of evil because when humans are given a choice we will choose good and evil. The amazing and awesome thing about God is He can take bad situation and make them turn out good. I know this personally in my own life! God Bless and Have a Great Songkran!
