Lipscomb University and Harpeth Hills church of Christ

During this week in Tennessee we met many friendly and loving Christians. Our week started with a very warm welcome from Randy and Ronda Lowry. Randy Lowry is the president of Lipscomb University and they graciously open their home to us. The first part of the week we visited Lipscomb University with Grant. We also talked to the mission department at Lipscomb about sending a college team every year to Thailand to work us. Both of these appointments went very well. The next event we went to was the World Mission Workshop. We were able to speak with several people that we met at Oklahoma Christian and Harding University. That night we went to Lipscomb’s volleyball game and Lipscomb’s High School football game with the Lowrys. On Sunday we spent time with Kent Kendrick at Harpeth Hills church of Christ and spoke with their youth group about the summer mission trip in 2010. We also had a lovely and inspirational lunch with the Oceanic Mission Team from Harpeth Hills and David Vanderppol, MD who is the medical director for Mobile Medical Disaster Relief.
Along this journey that we have been on, God has showed his power and His care through his constant preparation of events, people and places for us. We have also witnessed God’s family unconditional love and hospitality for no other simple fact besides we are a part of the Christian family. Our journey has also showed us the thousands of people who are actively living out their faith in Jesus. From the 18 year young lady who is explore her faith and desire to be a part of the incredible work of God. To be able to listen to the story of a missionary couple who have been in the Asia mission field for 35 years and their undying love for the lost. To the Lowry family that shaping and mentoring the next generation of doctors, lawyers, teachers, evangelist and preachers. Lastly, we have been able to listen to the best and brightest biblical scholars of 21st century.
Our family has approximately one more month on the road and sometimes my body and heart becomes weary and desires not to live out of my suitcase any longer. But when my heart starts thinking this way, my spirit reminds me of all the blessings God has given us during this journey.
